RED PERIOD

The Red Period is a deeply emotive era in Luke Edward Stripp’s body of work, defined by a limited palette of red, black, white, and grey. Unified by color but vast in feeling, these paintings explore the full spectrum of human intensity—love, passion, pain, resilience, anger, and endurance. Within this restrained yet powerful visual language, Stripp unpacks themes of discovery, narrative journey, isolation, and transformation. Abstract meditations sit alongside more figurative expressions, each work a step through fear, loss, and the artist’s evolving understanding of death. While touched by sadness and depressive undertones, The Red Period ultimately carries the weight of awakening and redemption—an emotional arc that rises, phoenix-like, from the ashes of grief toward the promise of becoming.
